This paper was presented at the International Conference on Vocational Education and Training held in Seoul, Korea, October 2000. It provides a background of the educational system in Nepal, its structure and goals, and outlines important changes which have taken place at the policy level in the technical education and vocational training (TEVT) area over the last four decades.
